The first 2 digits of the Serial Number indicate the year of manufacture (i.e. 15 indicates 2015), while the second 2 digits indicate month of manufacture (i.e. 03 indicates March), in this example the product was manufactured in March of 2015.
Reference your Installation, Care and Use manual to see the length of the warranty term for your model. The warranty period commences from the later of: (a) the date your InSinkErator product is originally installed, (b) the date of purchase, or (c) the date of manufacture as identified by your InSinkErator Serial Number. Using this information will help you determine if your product is still covered by warranty.
For example, if your model has 10 year warranty term and the serial number indicates it was manufactured in March 2015, then the product is covered under warranty until March 2025. If you have a receipt stating it was purchased December 2015, then the warranty will be covered until December 2025.
If you are unable to provide documentation supporting either (a) or (b), the Warranty Period commencement date will be determined by Manufacturer, in its sole and absolute discretion, based upon your InSinkErator product Serial Number.

Some of the problems experienced include the following.
Every once in a while, you will find that the blades, impellers are jammed. Therefore, it either just hams and doesn’t grind, or it doesn’t do anything. To correct this problem, turn the disposer off then use the Allen wrench to loosen the jam.
So, you insert it in the port below the disposer then turn it clockwise and anticlockwise. If it was a minor jam, this should revive it.
Finally, use the reset button below the disposal to restart it and plug it on again.
Every once in a while, you will deal with clogs. When the disposer clogs, then you should find ways to loosen the clogs. But first you must find where the clog is. Sometimes it goes to the drain pipes while other times it’s on the blades.
There are simple methods you can use to unclog the disposer. So, you can use simple methods which include the use of vinegar and baking soda. But if it’s extensive, then the snake drain will work best for you.
Sometimes it starts to leak, and when this happens then it’s hard to operate the garbage disposal. It all depends on the part of the garbage disposal that is leaking. The top part often means that the putty has deteriorated and you should buy a new one.
If the bottom is leaking then mostly it’s fully damaged, but the sides show you that the connections are loose and you, therefore, need to tighten them. When mending the top leaks make sure you tighten the mounting screws and bolts.
Sometimes the disposer has zero power, and it won’t start regardless of anything you try. If this is the case, that tells you that the disposer’s motor is completely broken. However, sometimes the damage has something to do with the circuit breaker.
If the circuit breaker is damaged, then you need to change it then restart the food disposer again using the reset button.
Sometimes the garbage disposal is painfully slow. When this happens, its often a clog that’s blocking the drains. To release the clog simply, use the auger as earlier stated.
This is another common problem, and when you hear it, you should know that the garbage disposal is simply jammed. It could cause the reset button to hop. If this happens, then you should use the Allen wrench to unjam it.
On rare occasion will the humming sound be a result of a clog. If the disposer clogs then you can use the snake drain.

Now to restart it, push the reset button inside. This should restart the flywheels and blades.
Now run the water into the disposer then switch on the garbage disposal. Don’t forget to switch on the circuit breaker too if you had switched it off.
There you go you can start the badger and grind the waste.

The only way to have the disposer lasting longer is in caring for it and maintaining it.
